Young Minds ‘Hello Yellow’ - Non-school uniform day

On Friday 10th October 2025, all staff and students are invited to wear something yellow, in return for a donation to Young Minds.

‘Hello Yellow’ is a fundraising and awareness day that takes place each year for World Mental Health Day. Schools, offices and individuals across the UK come together and dress in yellow to show young people that they aren’t alone with their mental health. You can find more information about what Young Minds has achieved and their future plans here: https://www.youngminds.org.uk/about-us/reports-and-impact/

Most importantly, we want to share the resources which YoungMinds offer to support parents and carers if you ever need help and advice to support your children.

This includes:

• online resources (www.youngminds.org.uk/parent/)

• a phone line, open 9.30am-4pm (0808 802 5544)

• an online chat for parents and carers to speak to trained professionals if you’re concerned about your children’s mental health www.youngminds.org.uk/parents-helpline/

How to donate

We are asking students to bring a £1 donation into school on Friday 10th October 2025 in exchange for wearing their own clothes. Donations will be collected by Form Tutors in morning registration.

All clothing should be suitable for a school and/or workplace environment. Students can wear jogging bottoms, leggings or jeans on the bottom with trainers. As always, no crop-tops, shoulders or tummies on show, no offensive language, no hotpants/short shorts, or inappropriate pictures on tops. No all-in ones such as: jumpsuits and unitards.

A non-school uniform day is a very small act of charity. Anything that we can contribute will help these valuable projects keep going.
