Support

Following the school closures in March 2020, the government have pledged additional funding to schools to help them support children who have gaps in their learning and skill development. The DFE have indicated that school leaders are best placed to make decisions on how this funding is spent, to support students in their community. At Ridgewood, we have allocated our additional funding to support the following areas of school development:

1.       Small group tuition for students who teachers have identified as having gaps in their learning and/or skill development. Note that this will not be every child, but we will focus on all year groups. Our areas of focus are:

  • Those students who are at the biggest risk of underachieving in public examinations

  • Those students who the government consider to be disadvantaged

  • Those students who experienced the highest levels of non-engagement during the school closures

2.       Increased learning opportunities for children we consider to be newly vulnerable.

3.       Increased opportunities for raising the aspirations of young people.

4.       Increasing access to technology to ensure remote learning promotes the most equal opportunities for all students.

5.       Supporting the well-being and mental health of our students in school.

6.       Faculty and subject specific raising achievement strategies that our Middle Leaders are responsible for.
