Reading at Ridgewood High School

Overview:

At Ridgewood High School we believe that reading is the key to success across the curriculum. Recent developments in the demands of GCSE courses means that the literacy skills of our students are intrinsic to their progress. In school, we have a number of initiatives and interventions in place to help improve the reading ages of all our pupils. Keep reading for more information.

All students from Y7 to Y11 are expected to have a reading book that interests them, in their bag, every day. There are many opportunities to read during the school day and it is best that students read something which they can enjoy.
